We spent a few days doing some land-based diving in the Yap Islands, then boarded the Odyessey on Chuuk (formerly known as Truk). During World War II, Truk Lagoon was Japan's main base in the South Pacific. The U.S. attacked the base and sunk many war ships and merchant ships in 1944, making it one of the world's best sites for wreck diving.
